Interview Discussion:
Connecting the internal and external world around you. It takes practice and you have to learn to become more and better than you are at a point in time. The music we are creating right now is identifying with this idea and the struggle we each go through every day to achieve it. How an artist sets his songwriting and music development goals and brings a much anticipated album to market. Including a discussion on finding your niche audience prior to crowdfunding a vinyl record.

Song name: Go High

Music Genre:: Pop, Jazz, Alternative

I live in : Falun Sweden

Our music is alternative Pop filled with different segments of genres from a whole life of musical experience. We have been releasing singles from our whole concept album ’7 Steps’ which is set for release on the 23rd of September. This song is about trying to focus on the things in life that really matter. We would love for our listeners to become more aware of the external and internal world around them and rise to another level of awareness that you might not have had before.

"You’re just a canvas. The listener is the projector of the story."

What's one thing you wish you knew at the beginning of your music career that you now understand?
It takes time and effort far greater than you’d expect. Talent matters but being consistant and patient is crucial to getting somewhere. You've got to think long term and understand that everything moves in circles not in a straight line. Be true to yourself, live and love what you do with those you love around you. Don’t expect different results if you don't put in the work.

Music business:

What's your opinion of the music business today?
It’s a world that consists of the scum of the earth mixed with the finest artist and performers of the earth. Heaven and hell. Corruption and psychomaniacs. There’s a lot to be said about big music business and the people in the know of how to exploit it and the listeners, but I choose to focus on all the great performers and all the extremely talented performers out there that brings hope, love, wisdom and genius to the world.

How do you feel about Music Streaming sites like Spotify, Tidal and Itunes?
Do you feel that they are now being dictated by the major labels?

They’re all good. But of course they’re dictaded by the major labels. I remember when Spotify came, I used the Beta version before the actual release. It was a gameshifter to get away from free downloading. The costs these days is not in the making of a record as much as it is to promote it and find your audience. To be able to reach out. There are plenty of tools now for the indie artist to be able to reach that audience that used to be available for only the major labels. Of course, the majors have a big advantage with all the money and old contacts and contracts. I seriously believe that ’Idol’ (American, English, Swedish etc.) has done a lot more damage to the music industry when it comes to hijacking talents and performers and aggressively promoting their way to an audience of how music should be experienced. They’ve been playing it safe for 10-15 years with safe music entertainment for the masses. There’s no innovation there anymore.

Progress:
What have you focused on this past few months?
The three single releases we’ve made. Beauty Queen, Beauty Queen Remix and Go High.

What have been your challenges this past 6 months and how did you over come them?
To find the time to finish my goals. I prioraticed and worked harder but it's not always good enough to get everything done. It's a constant challenge with lots of hurdles but when the music is done right, the rest can fall into place if you just keep at it consistently.

What's ahead for your Summer?
I’m gonna let my music seeds grow to plants and take care of them in time for harvest on the 23rd of September.
