Band Name: B.D.Kold
Person Interviewing: Brandon Stovall
This is my first song, and I hope to grow as an artist and as a person, moving forward into the making of my E.P. walking in faith, and hopefully making at least one studio album.
Where do you create your music?
I pray for God to allow me to use his word, or past experiences in my writing process. I have collaborations with ASAP Preach, my brother Sherlock, and my brother Blayne coming up for my E.P. My personal process for writing consist of alot of alone time and listening to how God moves on my heart. As I listen to beats, I generally use twanbeatmaker as my go to source. I am currently working on a collaboration for my brother Dustin Richerson that will be out in the beginning of April.
I love going into the studio, it makes me feel like a little kid. My Grandfather always told me that if you love what you do you never work a day in your life.
I find this to be true as i'm working on music, i have a love and connection to the microphone, it is like running into an old friend every time I get around one.
How do you stay focused and balance creating with life: A lot of times, I spend time in prayer, I spend time studying and watching preachers such a T.D.Jakes, Charles Stanley, or Dr. Tony Evans, among others.
I also have come to a place and understanding in my life where I cut out all secular music and t.v., God allows me to understand that I put out what I put in, so I try to limit what I mentally and spiritually ingest.
What piece of music advice forever changed your way of thinking? When I was still in the world, my big brother Luke Booker (aka lil witness) told me, “to pray before I wrote”. I was a youngster, about 17 when he told me this, its something I do still to this day.
I live in a small town outside of Baton Rouge, the local rap scene here has produced Boosie, Webbie, Nba Young Boy, and Kevin Gates, amonst other superstars.
Song name: Make It Rain
Music Genre: gospel rap
The Blessing of a changed live through Jesus Christ, walking in the power and presence of the lord, in the face of any and all adversities. My music is a fire filled approach to rap, taking a tool that is used to move the imagines and way of life by the enemy and using it for the glory of God.
