This song is about recognizing the value in everything around you, everyone around you, and most importantly self worth. My music is a reflection of thoughts both metaphorically and musically. On top of an extension to communicate different vibes and emotions that people may not normally experience.
How do you think this release represents your current direction..
this release is simply the start of my work, years of training and preparation to start the climb. I have lots of other music ready for release, some is almost ready, and one song needs more time. I have almost prepared a 12 song album including diamond eyes, entirely independently.
What piece of music advice forever changed your way of thinking?
If you make music for night clubs, you will have a successful career. If you make music that people put on at 7 am when they’re driving to work and need that boost, you’ll be legendary. As musicians, we are both artist and storyteller, weaving the two together.
Making music is why I was put here and continue to thrive. I am enthralled by it, day in and day out.
What made you want to start creating music?
Music has always been my calling in life. I was a small child pretending to be a backstreet boy, singing and dancing. That evolved into playing instruments, which then led to recording music and engineering.
Who do you think influenced your sound the most and why?
Too many artists from countless eras! I grew up on a mix of 90s/2000s pop, classic rock, hip hop, and metal.
What's one struggle that you faced while trying to create this first project?
Getting over the sound of my own singing was a challenge. You're always your harshest critic, so I would record countless takes to make sure my voice was top quality.
What do you wish you knew in the beginning that you now know?
Worry more about creating your own sound and less time comparing your work to other artists. With that being said, don't shy from their amazing influences.
