The Penthouse Band
Song name: Clouds
Music Genre: Indie/Rock/Pop
The push and pull between two people who love and hate eachother at the same time. When things become too chaotic, it’s easier to “keep my head up in the clouds” and avoid the situation but at the same time it’s tempting to go back to that person and situation.
As someone who has to contantly create, I find it easier to put my regular life and musical life under the same category. I just tie everything into one lifestyle. That way, I open myself up to inspiration from anything that goes on.
My music …
is a reflection of whatever is happening in life at the moment. We try to take all of these emotions and translate them into an exact sound so that listeners can feel that. Our music is also honest.
I think this release portrays a new direction we’re heading in when it comes to production. Production is constantly changing and advancing. It’s also just super neat so why not keep up with it? We also seem to be writing on the more emotional/ mellow side of things. That’s just where life is at the moment.
We start all of our songs at home by creating demos. I have a small set up in my room consisting of a few microphones, a keyboard, monitors, a couple guitars, and Logic ProX. It’s all we really need for a demo! After all that, we usually just book a studio. However, we always end up keeping a ton of the bedroom demo sounds in the final recording because we like them so much. All of the guitar tracks in “Clouds” are actually from the bedroom and we used a mic we ended up falling in love with called the Shure Unisphere.
Be yourself in everything you do.

That way, I open myself up to inspiration from anything that goes on. It’s also less stressful when you’re trying to keep two sides of your life separate when they don’t really have to be. Meditating and health goes a long way too.
I live in…
New Jersey. The music scene here has become weaker over the years compared to when I was a kid. However, everyone still loves music. But I can’t say there’s that much of an outlet here for it. Everyone just goes to NYC now. As do I haha
